Pre-Marital Counseling
Getting married is an exciting time for couples. Almost 95% of people in the United States marry at some point in their lifetime. Premarital counseling serves to equip couples with the right tools to develop a strong, loving and lasting marriage.
I utilize the PREPARE Program in working with premarital couples. PREPARE examines major relationship issues a couple may experience, including:
- Communication
- Conflict Resolution
- Personality Issues
- Financial Management
- Sexual Expectations
- Marital Satisfaction
- Leisure Activities
- Children and Parenting
- Family and Friends
- Expectations
- Cohabitation Issues
- Idealistic Distortion
- Role Relationship
- Spiritual Beliefs
A couple begins the counseling process by completing the 165-item PREPARE inventory online. I then meet with the couple for 4 to 6 sessions for discussions based on the inventory results, exploring different aspects of the relationship. Couples can also participate in additional sessions if they choose.
At the end of counseling couples receive a Certificate of Completion, certifying that they have completed a premarital course allowing them to obtain their marriage license at a discount.
