Essential Stocking Stuffers You Can’t Do Without

By now you probably either have all your gifts nicely wrapped under the tree or you’re one of the last minute shoppers looking for deals for everything on your list. Either way, here are a few priceless items you can or should I say should offer to your loved ones this Christmas:

The Gift of Acceptancefamily

No one is perfect. We all come with our rough edges. If you’re waiting for someone to go through a complete makeover inside-out before you accept them, you may be waiting beyond this life time. Love them unconditionally.

The Gift of Forgiveness

Life is too short to not allow old wounds to heal. Extending forgiveness is a key step on that journey. Otherwise we leave room for bitterness to take root and this tends to eat at the core of who we are. Offer forgiveness.

The Gift of Encouragement

Everyone can use a pick-me up. A word of encouragement can bring hope in midst of despair, render strength in midst of weakness, and shed light in a moment of darkness. You never know the result. Your word of encouragement may inspire a transformation, the start of career, or simply allow that individual to face another day. Encourage him or her today.

The Gift of Service

There aren’t enough hours in a day. That’s exactly why taking time out to serve others speaks volumes. Carving out 15 minutes, 30 minutes or a few hours to serve a spouse, a mother-in-law or a grandparent will go a long way. It’s a great stress reducer not only for them but for you as well when done in love.

The Gift of Time

There is no substitute for time. No amount of toys, video games, pairs of shoes or jewelry can equal the value of time spent with a loved one, especially for your kids. Many adults today would trade their affluent upbringing for more time with their parents as youngsters. Don’t repeat the same mistake with your kids and loved ones. They’ll appreciate the gifts but most of all they’ll treasure the loving, memorable moments spent with you for a lifetime.

So it’s not too late to add these to your stockings as we celebrate the greatest gift given to humanity. Because life matters, you’ll be glad you did! Merry Christmas and may the love of Christ fill your home and relationships today!
